The Tracking Learning Sharing (TLS) initiative is a cornerstone of the Adaptation Research Alliance (ARA). TLS fosters learning, amplifies the voice of the Global South in the adaptation space, and supports collaborative adaptation action and research, particularly in regions most vulnerable to climate change. TLS provides the mechanisms needed to ensure cohesion of the ARA global network of organisations by inducing a high degree of engagement and alignment between them. By facilitating peer-to-peer learning and fostering collaboration, TLS helps build a robust community of practice within the ARA, where members can exchange insights, co-create solutions, and contribute to global adaptation efforts.

This symposium is a unique opportunity for the ARA community to engage deeply with the adaptation learning priorities identified for 2025, collectively by the ARA Community. The two selected learning priorities for 2025 across the Global South are:

On Jan 23rd, 2025, we hosted a virtual workshop of ARA members to design the learning agenda for TLS 2025. The virtual workshop focused on two critical topics: Climate Change and Health and Climate Change and Human Settlements, enabling participants to reflect on individual challenges and collaboratively identify learning needs.
Two sessions were conducted, to ensure participation from all regions across the globe. With over 100 registrations, and over 50 active participants, the workshop concluded with key inputs from members to drive ARA’s learning agenda.
The community board is active to allow for members who could not participate, to ensure they get an opportunity to share their insights.
The results were shared at the ARA February 2025 Plenary, to capture additional inputs, validate the emerging learning questions, and capture relevant knowledge needs and assets of the plenary.

On February 6th, 2025, we hosted the follow-up workshop at the ARA Plenary, where over 50 ARA member organizations participated in adding to the knowledge need discovery from the learning agenda workshop, and subsequently shared their narratives and stories about Climate Change and Health, and Climate Change and Human Settlements. The board is active for members, urging them to add to it asynchronously post the workshop.
